In our continued effort to promote human rights education and awareness, International Solidarity for Human Rights: The New Generation, will take human rights education to Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

In the month of September 2010, ISHR will be taking on the challenge of El Camino de Santiago aka The Way to St. James, in a pilgrimage of human rights, education, culture and spirituality. Throughout this 307 kilometer journey by foot through Northwestern Spain, we will distribute thousands of copies of the ISHR Pocket Guide to Human Rights.

ISHR SETS A NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

On Tuesday , November 3rd, six women began a 10-day marathon in an attempt to break a Guinness World Records™ record, while reading the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. At 6pm on November 12th, the standing record of 224 hours was broken! The team of six women continued to read until the following morning, establishing a NEW Longest Reading Aloud Marathon by a Team Guinness World Records™ record of 240 hours, 15 minutes and 27 seconds!

El cielo tiene resabios que desconoce la tierra,
para condenar la guerra con sus conflictos y agravios.
Esta vez serán los labios de 6 mujeres la voz
por donde nos dirá Dios que todos somos hermanos
y los Derechos Humanos deben ser el venga a nos.

Aunque existen como arroz los ángeles con poderes,
sólo serán 6 mujeres quienes surgirán en pos
de la palabra veloz que rasgue por fin el velo
para ver el paralelo donde los seres estrechos
violan preciados derechos y no permiten consuelo

Santificado el señuelo de atención a los confines
será el libro Record Guinness, destinatario del Cielo.
Y ellas emprenden el vuelo con esta idea de frescura,
que es iniciativa pura pues coloca en competencia
un tema que la conciencia debe atender con premura.

10 días para la lectura, más que un record, ha de ser
el clamor de la mujer, valiente, firme y segura
por un mundo sin tortura, sin abusos, ni tiranos.
Extendamos nuestras manos y aplaudamos los poderes
de Dios en la 6 mujeres por los Derechos Humanos

Hoy los pueblos más lejanos podrán ver por Internet
la declaración de fe que abarcará varios planos.
Asistamos como hermanos que a la paz somos afines,
y que en todos los confines griten fuerte que es un hecho:
Lo humano tiene derecho a estar en el Libro Guinness.
